The Empirius team took part in the B2Run Munich for the very first time. Here are our impressions.
More than a third of our team took on the sporting challenge, and all seven participants crossed the finish line in under an hour. A fantastic achievement for a team that would not normally describe itself as particularly sporty!
This year, we took part in the B2Run Munich for the first time. The plan was simple: line up together, take on a new challenge as a team and, above all, enjoy the experience.
With seven colleagues taking part, we were well represented - after all, that is more than a third of our entire workforce. For some, it was their first-ever organised run; for others, it was a great opportunity to pick up and set the pace.
The atmosphere was buzzing before the race. We arrived around an hour before our start time, giving us plenty of time to take in the setting and get a sense of what lay ahead. There was no shortage of friendly competition or encouragement either. Before long, it was time to get going.
Although we started together, it quickly became clear that everyone wanted to test themselves and run at their own pace. So, we agreed to meet near the starting area after the race and headed off on our separate routes.
What mattered in the end was that all seven runners completed the B2Run with flying colours. Better still, every member of the team crossed the finish line in under an hour: a brilliant result that we can all be proud of.
Of course, for us the event was about more than just the sporting challenge. Cheering each other on, sharing the finish-line moment and raising a glass afterwards are exactly what team events like this are all about.
After the run, we celebrated together over beers and Bavarian pretzels. It was the perfect way to round off our first B2Run experience: relaxed conversations, plenty of laughs and a few stories from the course.
Our verdict: Empirius’ B2Run debut was more than a success. We showed that while we usually make our mark in the office through technology and development, we can also achieve a great deal together on the track.
We will definitely be back next year!
