More Security with Two-Factor Authentication

With Release 25.5, users can log in with two-factor authentication (2FA) via QR code – either optional or enforced. Configuration can be done centrally or per user, adding an extra layer of login protection.

New App: SAP Java Update

For the first time, SAP Java systems can now be updated directly via EPOS. Requirements include configured admin access in the password vault. Currently, Software Component Archives (SCAs) are supported, with more options planned.

Individual Security: Personal Password Vault

Every user now has a personal password vault where SAP or DB credentials can be securely stored. This allows actions on target systems to be executed more easily and with full accountability.

Custom App with Greater Flexibility

The Custom App now offers multiple enhancements:

- Performance boost by skipping unnecessary checks (e.g., DB/SAP check)

- Embed SQL statements directly – results are stored in the job report for audit-proof evaluations

New Features in Existing Apps

Release 25.5 also brings important upgrades to existing EPOS Apps – practical extensions that add efficiency and control.

HANA Update App

Considers additional prerequisites (e.g., System Landscape Directory updates)

Option to disable prerequisite checks if not required

System Maintenance App

Improved handling of OS reboots – integrate custom scripts or playbooks (e.g., Ansible)

Pre- and post-exits around reboots allow tailored extensions

DB2 Update App

Now supports DB2 version 12.1, including prerequisite validation

Zertifikats-App

New: restart Web Dispatcher or Message Server directly after certificate updates – without SAP downtime

More Convenience in Daily Operations

- Job Compare: compare job differences more clearly, with filtering options

- Email functionality: recipient display and alert behavior can be tailored

- Linux installation scripts: now standardized in English, with SSL certificate menu updates

Conclusion: EPOS Grows with Your Requirements

With Release 25.5, EPOS continues its focus on security, flexibility, and convenience for SAP Basis automation. From entirely new apps to detailed improvements, the platform is constantly evolving to meet your needs.
